MY MIND, MY LOVE 

Alexandra seemed upset that her best friend who could pass for her sister, didn't call her as soon as she was in trouble, but could call a total stranger she met hours before. She couldn't believe her eyes.

The more she thought about it, the angrier she became.

There was tension in the room as no one said anything. They were waiting to hear how the discussion would turn out as they often did.

Alexandra continued... "Tell me Ariana,  why did you not reach out to me the minute you needed help huh...?"

Hearing her tone and her expression, everyone knew she wasn't happy anymore. Ariana could only stare at her (Alexandra) to remind her of her love for her, if only that was going to be enough to calm her.

But Alexandra didn't look back at Ariana as she wasn't interested. Rather, she went on, "I couldn't even write my exams because I was worried about you, you were the only thing on my mind and yet, I wasn't the first person you called on?".

As she was about to continue,  Ariana quickly interrupted... "You were the very first person that came to mind my love,  I dailed your number and quickly stopped it before it rang because I didn't want to distract you knowing you had exams to prepare for. And now, you still didn't make it. I'm really sorry Alex". Ariana pleaded with a guilty look.

On hearing that, Alexandra was relieved though she felt bad for questioning her friend's loyalty. She apologized to Ariana and went close to hug her. She also planted a kiss on Ariana's forehead and they made up.

Then Brian went on...

"A lot happened while you were unconscious.  We, somehow arrived at your apartment and found you lying half dead in the pool of your blood. First was Mr Anderson. Apparently, you could not hear him when you called, but he heard you despite the network interferences...

…He didn't know when he left his house without clothes, to yours. On getting there and realizing he couldn't get access into your apartment, he had to reach out to Alex to gain access. Not too long, I joined them. 

That was how we took you to the hospital.  But getting here, the doctor thought one of us tried to kill you and it was Mr Anderson they suspected because he was the first person to get to the apartment. 

To cut the story short,  Mr Anderson was arrested."

Ariana: Wait! What?

Brian: Yes,  he was. Thank God we found his phone that contained your calls, text and conversations between him and Alex.  That was how he was released. And that's how come you see Mr Audrey and Mr Tony.  Mr Tony is Mr Anderson's lawyer while Mr Audrey is the officer in charge of the case.

"Oh my! I didn't know you guys went through all this" Ariana said, looking at all of them and stopping her gaze on Mr Anderson.  She started apologizing for everything he (Mr Anderson) had to go through for her sake.

Mr Anderson could only smile and told her, "it's fine Ariana, this is nothing compared to the sacrifice Jesus paid for us. I'm glad you're alive and well, that's what matters".

Ariana was really shocked on hearing everything Mr Anderson and Brian had narrated and was already thinking of what to do to erase the memories they've had as a result of the incident. While she was thinking, Daniel spoke up, "Greetings ma'am, my name is Daniel,  oga Anderson's gate man, it's good to finally meet you" (talking to Ariana),

Alex spoke up almost immediately; "Ah! Precious Daniel,  everyone forgot you out of excitement"

And they all laughed. 

“It's nice to make your acquaintance", Ariana replied.
