WINE AND CUBES

All she wanted was' to enjoy every moment with this stranger before her, but now, it seem it wasn't going to last long because he wasn't living on the Island as she thought. He's only there because he's on a school training after which he was going to leave. 

She wasn't happy suddenly,  all the sweet feelings she was having the whole day disappeared by a mere knowledge of Brian's stay on the Island. 

Every one knew she wasn't happy about the news, and tried getting her out of the state she suddenly put herself in, but that was a besotted effort. She kept moody and didn't care about the movie they were seeing or anything else they tried to do to  and for her. 

Brian whispered to Alex,  "what can we do to get her out of this situation I've put her in Alex, and do you think its really because of what I said that made her angry so?" ..."Yes Brian,  it's what you said. Abi you don't have eyes to see she's taken by you?" "Oh no! How do I correct this now?" Brian inquired; "There's nothing to do except she gets out of that euphoria herself" "oh my God! I didn't mean to hurt her so..." 

"Yeah! We know " exclaimed Alexandra. 

As she turned to go sit, she said..., "Uhmmmm... I think I may know how to get her out of that feeling" she whispered to Brian. "What?" Brian asked; "let me get some wine from the store,  she's good with wine and can't reject"  "for real" Brian asked; "yes! She does". "Okay then, let me accompany you get it" but Alex told him not to, so she doesn't suspects it's a plan between them, and Brian agreed.

So, Alex turned and left the livingroom into the store,  there, she found various types of wine, and was almost indecisive about which to bring to Ariana. As she went through the bottles one after the other, she found the one they had earlier on after lunch, Ariana really loves that particular wine she said to herself rolling her eyes... so she brought that wine and two others.

She thought of how to carry the bottles of wine, as she thought looking around, she found a bucket at the door and exhaled.  Picked up the bucket and put the bottles inside, and she brought them to the kitchen,   kept two in the fridge and carried one and some ice cubes with four glasses. She carried the glasses on a tray to the livingroom, drew the center table closer to Ariana and kept the glasses in front of her, and she (Ariana) was wondering what was going on, including Mr Anderson. But Brian seemed relax and unperturbed. 

Alex went back to the kitchen and brought the wine and cubes and... There! They understood the reason Brian has been smiling shipishly and fortunately,  she caught the attention of Ariana and he was elated. 

Alex scooped the ice cubes into their glasses and poured some wine into it as they raised it up and made a toast to "life and wealth" and Alex added; "to love" y'all and Brian and Ariana's eyes met and they cheered and drank their wine.

Now here's the deal, Brian is not so much of a drinker, though he can handle the bottles to an extent before he gets intoxicated.  But Ariana on the other hand is a heavy drinker, uhhhhh.... you have no idea.. and I'm pretty sure you haven't seen a lady drink as much as Ariana does, and she makes no shame to show it.

Alex isn't so much of a drinker either and cannot match Ariana half. When she just wants to get on her high and be there, she wishes Alex's niece (Ashley) was always around at such times  because she's the only one that can and does get on that level with Ariana whenever she's there.

Ariana: "Oh! I miss Ashley. See how you have successfully put me in this mood Alex. And its not like you're up for it". 

"What is she talking about and who is Ashley?" Brian whispered to Alex. "Ashley is my niece and she's always pie-eyed" (Brian raise his left eyebrow like, what?). And Alex cuts in immediately; "oh no! It's not what you think, I mean she likes to drink a lot and can manage herself properly without misbehaving you see..."  "Oh! I see. So Ariana is a drinker then...?" " you can say that" Alexandra replied. 

For getting such an information about Ariana,  for some reasons beyond him, made him like her the more, he could not explain it to himself.  Maybe because he has always liked real people, not the ones who'll pretend and does it behind when you're not watching.  Or, maybe its because it's Ariana, His hankering grew for her...
