Daniel had dropped Mr Tony (Mr Anderson's lawyer) off at the station to get his car, after which he drove home the same time Brian was bringing his boss home.
So they drove in and parked properly. Mr Anderson told Brian to not leave yet because he wanted him to be around when he'd break the news to Daniel, (about taking him as his younger brother); this means he'll no longer be Mr Anderson's gate man anymore, and he'll have to be living in the same house with him, his wife and kids.
Brian asked Mr Anderson again if he was sure of what he wanted to do, "you know you have a wife and two kids, you need to think this through before you proceed. I tell you my friend, people change and some people don't know how to manage freedom. I beg you, give this thought of yours more time before you proceed. Moreover, you haven't discussed this with your wife. Please hold on until she returns as this matter is not supposed to be discussed over the phone. I'd advise that you wait till she returns home please", Brain pleaded.
“At least that would buy him some time to have a rethink…" so Brian thought.
Mr Anderson reasoned with Brian, especially when he mentioned his wife. He really needs to discuss with her before making such decision. So he agreed with Brian to wait for his wife.
In Brian's mind, he had succeeded in buying Mr Anderson enough time to have a rethink on the matter.
As they yet spoke, Daniel approached them to know if they needed anything, but as he was coming towards them, they opened the doors and only Mr Anderson came out immediately. Brian sluggishly brought his head out of the car and his body followed, but his left hand was still on the steering and left foot on the brake, while the remainder of his body were out of the car.
Mr Anderson thanked him for everything and for bringing him home. He tried persuading him to come in for a drink but Brian really wanted to go. It was until Mr Anderson mentioned Ariana's party and how they'd go about it, just then, he let his entire body follow in Mr Anderson's direction leaving the engine of the car running. Daniel got inside the car and turned the engine off and locked the car as he followed them behind into the sitting room.
They sat down all fagged out while Daniel went inside and came out serving them cold water and some cold drinks as well, alongside some chops he found in the fridge before microwaving it. They ate as they discussed plans for the party.
Mr Anderson: it shouldn't be so much, you know, we just need the basics and some friends and family too to be there. Brian couldn't agree more, "we should reach Alexandra right away, we do not have time, Christmas is here". (Mr Anderson interrupted immediately), "wait, what? Christmas is tomorrow and my wife isn't here? Oh no! I need my wife back". While he tried searching for his phone to call his wife, Daniel told him that he thinks she's back already because he found a lot of food items in the kitchen and a whole other things...
Before Daniel could finish talking, Mr Anderson stood up in excitement and ran upstairs screaming, “babbbbbbbbby are you home??". Suddenly, his tired self received strength. Truly, love is beautiful, you could see this man is in love still.
As he got into the room, they shocked him with a scream of "surprise!"
He was so excited that he could not wait to lift his wife off the floor first and then the kids. This man is wise. They hugged for a while, then he brought them down to meet Brian. It was a lovely sight to see. Mr Anderson has got some good taste, Brian imagined.
After they met and were introduced properly, Brian told Mr Anderson he needed to leave so that he (Mr Anderson) and his family can have some time to themselves.
Brian: “I have a cafeteria that can handle food and everything else we'll need to eat"
Mr Anderson: I'd arrange for drinks then and also call Alexandra to handle family members.
"Okay!" Brian echoed, “everything is done then.
Let me head back to the hospital and see if she's okay, afterwards,I head home."
They said their goodbyes and he left for the hospital. On getting to the hospital, he met her still sleeping, and so to avoid waking her, he gently kissed her hand and forehead whispering "I love you" to her as he let down her hand and made his way out... She opened her eyes and watched him go...
